Some Rules of Life
All of us
have only one life to live. Shouldn’t we make it pleasant and interesting for
us? It’s in our hands to lead the life we want and not anyone else’s. There are
rules that can help us in leading such a life. I’ll share some in this blog. If
you wish to know more, write to me separately, and I will happily share the
others too.
Rule 1
Live in the present
What is done
is done. Jo ho gaya, so ho gaya. Do
not dwell on it. The more you live in the past, the more detached you become from
the present. And in the process, you lose valuable moments of your life. The
world will pass you by and you’ll be left wondering why. By living in the
present, you are in control of your existence. You can decide, plan, dream.
Rule 2
Be as you are – let others be as they are
No one is
perfect. And no one can be. So why waste time in striving to become one? By all
means improve your abilities, hone your skills, etc but do not fret too much
about perfection. And never ever try to change anyone – that’s just not
possible. Every individual has a set mind, a pattern that he / she is used to,
so don’t interfere with that. Our parents, spouses, siblings, children and
friends, they all are made in a particular way. Accept the way they are and accept
the way you are.
Rule 3
Go outside your comfort zone
Don’t stay
cocooned in one world. There are many worlds outside your world. Step out of
your comfort zone once in a while, until you form a habit. The more times you
venture in different zones, the more experiences you’ll have. Your life will
undergo a sea change. Explore a new way to home from work, learn a new skill,
face your fear, volunteer, do something that you have never done before.
Rule 4
Don’t compare
Everyone is
not the same. Individuals will differ in knowledge, education, health, wealth,
skills, looks and so on. If we start comparing ourselves with others, then we’ll
be stuck at the same place. We can definitely learn from others and be
motivated by what they have achieved or can do, that’s perfectly fine. But don’t
get into the habit of saying bhala uske
pass ye hai, mere pass kyun nahi?
Rule 5
Never react – always respond
Reacting to
things / incidents means you have lost control and once you do that, only
escalation and deterioration will happen. Instead, respond. By responding you
are in complete command. So, if someone raises his voice at you, you don’t have
to do the same. If someone backbites you, you don’t have to backbite. If
someone criticizes you, you don’t. Deal with such incidents (if you have to) in
a cool manner. A step further is to just forget. Let it go.

ReplyDeleteReally awesome. I do follow these rules every day. Rising from my own ashes daily. Every day I die so that I forget what things have happened during the day and rise another day stronger n wiser.
