An Interview with Satan

Thank you, Mr. Satan, for agreeing for the interview. I know you are a super busy person so I won’t keep you for long.

NZ: What is your issue with God?

Satan: I don’t have an issue with him. He has an issue with me.

NZ: Really? Is that so?

Satan: Yes. He told me to bow before Adam. How could I?

NZ: Why couldn’t you?

Satan: I am superior to Adam because I am senior to him.

NZ: Senior or junior doesn’t matter. The command came from Big Boss.

Satan: I am the Big Boss.

NZ: You may call yourself that but the fact is that God is the Big Boss.

Satan: Look, my friend, if you are going to insult me then I will walk off.

NZ: Please, Mr. Satan. I apologise. I have no intention of insulting you. I will rephrase my question. Before you became the Big Boss, weren’t you reporting to God?

Satan: Yes, I was.

NZ: Then why didn’t you listen to him? He commanded you to bow before Adam, you should have bowed.

Satan: The SOP (standard operating procedure) did not state this.

NZ: So, you mean it was against the policy?

Satan: Yes, it was.

NZ: But Mr. Satan, God is management and management decides the policy.

Satan: What are you trying to prove?

NZ: I am not trying to prove anything. I just want to understand why you were dismissed, despite being one of the top performers?

Satan: As I told you, the management told me to report to a new staff, Adam – how could I do that? He had just joined the organisation, while I was much, much senior to him.

NZ: You could have resigned. That would have been a better way out.

Satan: If I had resigned, I would have got nothing. I would have lost all my benefits.

NZ: Ok, so, that’s why you waited to be sacked?

Satan: Yes. So, I could demand whatever I could.

NZ: And what did you demand?

Satan: I demanded that for my years and years of service, I should be given a golden handshake.

NZ: And what was that?

Satan: The freedom to misguide the staff members of God Inc. worldwide.
