What Men Like in Women


                                                 
After I published my blog What Women Like in Men (18.6.2019), I received couple of requests from readers - both male and female - to write about what men like in women.

Man is a visual animal. He likes women who are well dressed, wears the right make-up and correct footwear. If her clothes and footwear do not complement each other, then it puts him off. A majority of men never compromise on a woman’s footwear. That’s the number one priority. The way to a man’s heart is through a woman’s feet – all you ladies keep this in mind.    

Smile is the next big thing that matter to men. Refer to my blog When a Woman Smiles (21.6.2019) wherein I have made an attempt to describe the types of smiles a woman has. Men like it when the woman’s smile portrays trust and confidence in him. So work your magic with a beaming smile.

Men like women who communicate with their eyes than with words. Not all men understand the language of the eyes, but the intelligent ones do. The eyes of a woman play a pivotal role in any relationship.

Jewellery should not be heavy, too many, and too loud. Men prefer delicate, dainty jewelleries. For plus size women, this rule doesn’t apply. They look smarter in bigger jewelleries and men make an exception for them.

No man likes a dumb woman – even if she is strikingly beautiful. That’s the thumb rule. (Just like no woman likes a dumb man). It’s not necessary that she should be well-read, no, that’s not the requirement, though it can be a big plus. But she should be able to form her own opinion on things that matter. She should not hesitate to voice her views.

Smell, the distinctive feminine smell is what all men like. Combined with the right perfume, the woman hits the bull’s eye (or the man’s nose). Women should have a variety of perfumes – 5 is a good number – but if they don’t have, then they should mandatorily have these two:  Black Orchid by Tom Ford & Dior Hypnotic Poison. Both these perfumes have been voted by men worldwide as among the best perfumes for ladies.

The tilt of the head – when a woman does that, it sweeps a man off his feet. Slightly tousled and ruffled hair is another sure-shot winner but this works only if she is wearing red lipstick. Otherwise, no. For women who do hijab, the kind of headgear she uses is vitally important. Balancing modesty and style is a difficult art. I will write about hijab and style some other time.

And finally, I reveal the biggest secret of all. Men like to be complimented as much, if not more, as women do. So ladies be generous with your praise. A man never forgets a woman who praises him.

Don't Be Afraid to Dream

While reading a book* I came across this line: What you want and what you get are usually two entirely different things The author painstakingly states that we may want the whole world in our grasp but we may end up catching nothing in our fist. It isn’t necessary that what you want you will get…in fact it may never happen.  I agree with the line but not with the writer’s assessment about it. My argument is that: We may want a 3BHK apartment but instead we may get a penthouse. We may want to become a millionaire but instead we become a billionaire. We may want to become an officer at the time of getting the job but instead we end up becoming a CEO. The writer has only echoed Nida Fazli’s sentiments Kabhi kisi ko muqammal jahan nahi milta Kahin zamee toh kahin aasman nahi milta  I ask ‘Kyuun nahi? Why not?’ We limit our own self. The Lady in Red

Yesterday after my morning prayer, I went for my 30- minute walk. My wife did not accompany me because she preferred the warmth of the bed to the cold outside. Usually, she does. I did not take the path that I normally take every day. The road was deserted and not a soul was in sight. I walked briskly, determined to do a certain number of steps within the time that I had. It was dark and the wintry breeze was making me shiver. I thought of the cosiness of my bed and for a moment was tempted to abandon the walk and go back home. But commitment is commitment.
