What to Do When You Have Nothing to Do
Do
nothing - if you have nothing to do. That’s the best thing you can do when you
have nothing to do because when you have something to do then you can’t do
nothing.
Seldom
do we get to do nothing. All the time we are busy with something. So, when
there’s nothing to do, then do nothing.
How
does it feel doing nothing? No reading, no writing, no watching TV, no
sleeping, no talking, no listening, no doing anything. Just doing nothing. Does
one feel happy doing nothing or bored? Is it relaxing doing nothing or
frustrating? How does the mind behave when doing nothing? Does it think then?
If
the mind is thinking then can it be said that one is doing nothing? A thinking
mind is not an idle mind and therefore the individual is doing something. But if
the mind is idle and he also is idle then it can be said that he is doing
nothing.
I
have experienced doing nothing and I look forward to doing nothing. It is when
I am doing nothing that I am at my best. All my senses are at peak level then. Doing
nothing takes me to a nirvanic state. My soul connects with the cosmos. In the
world of nothingness, I float.
But
when I float in the world of nothingness, aren’t I doing something? Then how
can it be that I am doing nothing? Or is it that by doing nothing, I am in that
state? So can it be said that by doing nothing, one can achieve something?

I would like to experience doing nothing,
ReplyDeleteAs always, you have picked up a profound topic. Enjoyed reading it. Adding to your thoughts: We are floating quanta in the ocean of nothingness. Our ego gives us a false sense of entitification and causes the feeling of a separate entity. It is so strong that we struggle to merge with nothingness!!
