Women and Stress

Women and stress go hand in hand. Since they are mentally stronger than men, God has given them more types of stresses to handle. So, small issue or big issue, insignificant or significant, women get stressed out with everything. I have attempted to list down (below) those concerns which gives them stress:

Age

Appearance

Weight

Make-up

Clothes

Complexion

Hair

Time of the month

Climacteric

Pregnancy

Post-pregnancy

Husband

Children

(Note: I have not considered divorce, separation and widowhood because these are exceptional circumstances).

Stress leads to wild swings in the mood of women. Men are unable to understand what is happening. They think that women are behaving melodramatically but that’s not the case. Women are trying, instead, to cope with the situation at hand. At such a time, they look to men to provide them emotional support. But men either retreat into their rooms or turn a blind eye to the ‘damsel in distress.’

When women go through these annoying circumstances, they just need some pampering, some reassurances, that’s all. If men do that, women will bounce back instantly. But the behaviour of men makes them withdraw further into their shells.

A patient ear, a small gift, a soft pat, a tight hug, and some uplifting words – that’s the package that men need to deliver to relieve women from stress.
