He is India ’s face in the international arena of films. His persona is bigger than life. He is no longer a star or a superstar. Long-time back he left these labels behind. Stars and superstars are titles for which ordinary mortals vie for. When someone crosses the Bridge of Expectation, then he enters into the Realm of Immortality.



His presence overshadows his own self. He is a Brand. Brands have their own value, their own strength. But some Brands don’t have a price tag. They are priceless. Bachchan is a priceless Brand. He towers above all.



He is the Don of all stars. He is the Shakti of Bollywood. He is the Naseeb that all crave for. He is Mahaan. He is the Shaan of Indian cinema. He has broken all Deewar. He is the Laqshya that all want to reach.



The queue starts from where Bachchan stands. Even as Kaalia he stands out among all stars. He makes everyone Nishabd. He is a Silsila that never ends. Actors like him come Kabhi Kabhi. 



The world of cinema without Amitabh Bachchan is like Cheeni Kum chai.

Don't Be Afraid to Dream

While reading a book* I came across this line: What you want and what you get are usually two entirely different things The author painstakingly states that we may want the whole world in our grasp but we may end up catching nothing in our fist. It isn’t necessary that what you want you will get…in fact it may never happen.  I agree with the line but not with the writer’s assessment about it. My argument is that: We may want a 3BHK apartment but instead we may get a penthouse. We may want to become a millionaire but instead we become a billionaire. We may want to become an officer at the time of getting the job but instead we end up becoming a CEO. The writer has only echoed Nida Fazli’s sentiments Kabhi kisi ko muqammal jahan nahi milta Kahin zamee toh kahin aasman nahi milta  I ask ‘Kyuun nahi? Why not?’ We limit our own self. The Lady in Red

Yesterday after my morning prayer, I went for my 30- minute walk. My wife did not accompany me because she preferred the warmth of the bed to the cold outside. Usually, she does. I did not take the path that I normally take every day. The road was deserted and not a soul was in sight. I walked briskly, determined to do a certain number of steps within the time that I had. It was dark and the wintry breeze was making me shiver. I thought of the cosiness of my bed and for a moment was tempted to abandon the walk and go back home. But commitment is commitment.
