Moments Can be Caught

Purple desires float in the air like children’s balloons set free. The Maker makes our destiny but gives us the option to shape it the way we want. But we spend our time in complaining, instead of setting right the things that are not of our liking.

 

From outside, the duck looks calm and serene in the water, but inside, its feet are moving fast and furiously. So, when surrounded by chaos, remain unruffled. Be like the duck. We cannot change the other person, much that we want to. But we can change our self. We cannot make the other person see our point of view much that we would love him to. But we can see his point of view. We cannot make other people get in our shoes but we obviously can get in theirs.

 

Darkness is sometimes necessary in life. It makes us realize the importance of light. Night sings a lullaby for me. Time is flying and we find ourselves in the same spot. Let’s get on with our life before life gets away from us. It’s hard to believe that we can also be wrong but the fact is that we are only sometimes right.

 

Some moments can never be captured but some definitely can be. Have you caught yours today?

Don't Be Afraid to Dream

While reading a book* I came across this line: What you want and what you get are usually two entirely different things The author painstakingly states that we may want the whole world in our grasp but we may end up catching nothing in our fist. It isn’t necessary that what you want you will get…in fact it may never happen.  I agree with the line but not with the writer’s assessment about it. My argument is that: We may want a 3BHK apartment but instead we may get a penthouse. We may want to become a millionaire but instead we become a billionaire. We may want to become an officer at the time of getting the job but instead we end up becoming a CEO. The writer has only echoed Nida Fazli’s sentiments Kabhi kisi ko muqammal jahan nahi milta Kahin zamee toh kahin aasman nahi milta  I ask ‘Kyuun nahi? Why not?’ We limit our own self. The Lady in Red

Yesterday after my morning prayer, I went for my 30- minute walk. My wife did not accompany me because she preferred the warmth of the bed to the cold outside. Usually, she does. I did not take the path that I normally take every day. The road was deserted and not a soul was in sight. I walked briskly, determined to do a certain number of steps within the time that I had. It was dark and the wintry breeze was making me shiver. I thought of the cosiness of my bed and for a moment was tempted to abandon the walk and go back home. But commitment is commitment.
